It's been a WHOLE month since I got my 3d printer. I figured it was time for me to put out an update (proof of life?). So far it's been going really well. I've been enjoying the learning and tinkering phase. I made a conscious decision when I started to NOT go crazy and MOD ALL THE THINGS! So, I'm still stock on all the parts that matter. So what have I been doing you ask? Well, there's been a decent amount.
I have printed a bunch of the best thing ever: The Fucktopus. Including a glow in the dark version!
I have printed some Happy Pots for a friend's birthday!
And a whole host of other little things like articulating dragons, a Celtic knot box, Dragons Egg (one of my favorites), etc.
I've even designed and printed some custom parts for functional use. This one is a little lock that keeps tools from trying to attack the car when people "close" the door to the garage.
And finally, tonight, I "finished" the cable chain for my printer. While this is *semi* cosmetic I just like that the cables are hidden cleanly and it looks cool in red :)
I have had a lot of fun with this. And may have helped convince Ray to buy one even. So, if you're thinking about jumping into this hobby. First, ensure you have a TON of free time to get things figured out if you go with one of the less expensive versions (like the Creality Ender 3V2 Neo I have). Otherwise look into some of the pricier options that are a bit more set and forget I hear :) Either way it's a cool and functional tool that can be a toy too!
